MWP Community Care was established and built by volunteers and to this day volunteering is an essential part of our DNA and embraced as a core value.
We offer a number of interesting volunteer opportunities to older Australians, including accompanying them to social or medical appointments, taking them on shopping or social outings, calling or visiting them. MWP Community Care’s clients typically live in the Manly, Warringah and Pittwater local government areas.
Accompanied Transport
Driving and accompanying clients to medical & social appointments.
Escorted Shopping
Driving and assisting with grocery and/or personal shopping, on an individual basis.
Visiting
Meeting a client in their own home to provide friendship and companionship.
Telephoning
Making either a daily call to make sure a client is well or a regular weekly call for a friendly chat.
Phone Room
This role is based in our office and involves taking requests from clients and matching them with volunteers.
Social Networking
Driving or escorting clients on group or individual outings.
Multicultural Support
If you speak another language you may be able to volunteer with one of our CALD Groups that meet on a regular basis (eg. Chinese, Filipino, Italian, Korean, Serbian etc).
